During the past few years, I have been encouraged by the membership growth of our Manitoba CCCA chapter.

Partnering with the Corporate Counsel Section of the Manitoba Bar Association has given us many opportunities to provide ongoing professional development to colleagues from across the province. In fact, many past meetings encouraged excellent attendance - a testament to the quality of the speakers and the timeliness of selected topics.

In 2010 and beyond, we are looking forward to hosting leading edge professional development and luncheon meetings, approximately once a month, at various downtown Winnipeg locations. It is through the generous sponsorship of "host" companies, organizations and law firms that these quality ‘lunch and learn' presentations, featuring a myriad of guest speakers, can be offered.

As an ongoing process through our annual "Corporate Counsel Barometer" program, we welcome topic suggestions from our members for future programs. After all, it's our mission to continue to be relevant to you as we strive to meet your professional needs.

I would like to extend my personal appreciation to all those special people (hosts and speakers) who, once again, said "Yes" to our Chapter last year. We look forward to your continued loyalty and support in the months and years ahead.
