Mavericks, Pioneers & Trailblazers-Harnessing Innovation and Leadership
Calgary, AB
August 12 - 14, 2007
The theme of this year’s Annual Meeting was "Mavericks, Pioneers & Trailblazers: Harnessing Leadership & Innovation" and, in recognition of our host city, celebrated the energy, vitality and “frontier spirit” of in-house counsel. The program presented the best practices for applying that spirit of leadership and innovation to the pressing legal and business management issues facing corporate counsel. The conference was a great success, and attracted the second-highest number of delegates in the history of CCCA.
The conference co-chairs were Marcia Decter, Vice President and General Counsel, Chevron Canada Limited and David Weyant, Vice President, Legal and General Counsel, Calgary Health Region.
Our expert faculty included senior corporate counsel from all walks of industry and leading lawyers from the top law firms in the country. We are most grateful for the contributions of in-house counsel from many of the largest and most successful corporations in Western Canada, including Imperial Oil, TransAlta, Chevron Canada, Nexen, Shell Canada, EnCana, PotashCorp, ConocoPhilips Canada, Suncor Energy, Husky Energy, Agrium, Talisman Energy, Terasen, TransCanada Corporation - and many, many more.
Our plenary and keynote speakers provided conference attendees with their unique insight and perspectives on human rights, ethics, corporate social responsibility, international competition, mentoring, board diversity, technology and the nature of the CEO/General Counsel relationship.
